Westmeath Libraries will be closed for the Imbolc/St Brigid's Day Bank Holiday Weekend from 3rd Feb - 5th Feb inclusive. Reopening as usual on Tuesday 6th February 2024
February 24th is Ireland Reads Day! And this year’s theme is “Get Lost”, so join us in Westmeath Libraries and we’ll help you to Get Lost in a Good Book.

Our Teen Advisory Board is meeting in Mullingar Library on 12th February at 4.00pm - You can drop in any time until 5pm
This is a group of teenagers from around the county who meet on a regular basis to help make the library more relevant to teenagers.
We want to know what you would love to see in your local library, the books you want to read, the events you want to hold. The library belongs to you, so we want to include your views and options. If you are interested in the future of Westmeath Libraries then join our advisory group and make sure your voice is heard.
Story time at the library
Join us in Mullingar Library every Friday morning from 10am - 11am for our Baby Book Club and Toddler group. All are welcome and there is no booking required.
Join us in Athlone Library for some Toddler Storytime & Rhyme on 10th Feb at 11am. Storytime is free but booking essential. When reserving a space one ticket is needed per group only. Ticket can be booked in adults name.
Crafts for Adults
Do you enjoy knitting, crochet, needlecraft or any other craft activity? We are delighted to host a number of crafting groups in our libraries on a regular basis. These always welcome new members and are a great way to share skills as well as share the chat.
Knit & Natter meet in Moate Library every Monday at 10.30am
Knitting and crocheting in Kilbeggan Library every Monday at 2pm
The Patchwork and Needlecraft group meet in Mullingar Library every Monday at 1pm
M4 Womens Group/Knitting club meet every Tuesday in Castlepollard Library at 10.30am.
Knitting & Crochet Social group meet in Athlone Library 13th Feb & 27th Feb at 10.30am
Remember if none of these suit feel free to contact the library about setting up a group of your own.

17:00 to 20:00 on the 13th of February.
If you already have an army bring along either of the following:
A combat patrol
A legal 500 point army
If you do not have an army we will have armies available to borrow and will work to show new players how to play. We will also have Kill Team and Blood Bowl available. This event is free but registration required. Suitable for ages 16+
Drop in to Castlepollard Library for a free blood pressure check-up, courtesy of Green St. Pharmacy. The clinic will operate from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on Wednesday, 14th February. This service is free and no booking is required.
