July is here, and our Summer Stars is in full swing, with over one thousand children already signed up. This year as well as a fantastic activity booklet for all children we have a collection of Book Monster stickers.
These were designed by children around Westmeath, so make sure you collect all six before the end of the summer.

Featured Story: An Afternoon with Marian Keaney
It was with great pleasure that Mullingar Library welcomed former Westmeath County Librarian Marian Keaney on 26th June, 2025, to celebrate her life, work and many achievements.
Attendees were treated to speeches from Cllr. Liam McDaniel, Cathaoirleach, as well as local historians Ruth Illingworth and Seamus O'Brien, detailing Marian's outstanding contributions to literature, culture and local history in the Westmeath area. The event was capped with an address from Marian herself, and the official handover of her collections to the Westmeath Archives Department, where they will held and available for future generations of researchers, extending Marian's already significant impact in the area.
A small exhibition of photographs of Marian from across her career are available now to view in Mullingar Library, until Friday 11th July.
